Who we are
[Company name] Sdn. Bhd. ("we") runs FoodTrippr. Contact: hello@foodtrippr.app. This policy explains what personal data we collect and why, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). If you live in the European Union or the UK, you have the rights given by the GDPR, and we apply them.
What we collect
- Your account: first name, email, country you live in, and password (stored securely by our sign-in provider; we never see it), or your Google sign-in.
- When you buy a pass: your full name and, if you choose to give it, your mobile number.
- Your trip profile: who is travelling, towns, days, trip start date if you give it, cravings, food rules, budget and hotel. We keep it with your account so your plan works on every phone.
- Your choices about emails: whether you agreed to marketing emails, with the date.
- Your votes on spots, linked to your account.
- Your location, once, when you tap "I ate here", to check you are at the spot. We keep only the result, never your location.
- Payment details are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number.
- Usage data, such as pages viewed, to improve the app.
How we use it
To run your plan and your account, keep your pass and votes on any phone, send service emails (verifying your email, password resets, receipts), and improve our spot lists. If you tick the marketing box, we also use your name, email and trip profile to send food picks and offers timed to your trip. That box is optional and you can unsubscribe from any marketing email or by writing to us. We may also share your email, name, country and mobile, in scrambled (hashed) form, with Google and Meta so our ads reach people like our travellers and skip people who already have a pass; you can ask us to stop. We do not sell your data.
Who we share it with
Service providers that run the app for us: Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, database, sign-in), Stripe (payments), our email provider and our analytics provider. Each processes data only for us.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as you have an account, then 12 months. Votes may be kept without your name to keep spot ratings accurate.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or stop marketing emails, at any time. Email hello@foodtrippr.app.
